Vol. 512 No. 8

Written Answers. - Atmospheric Pollution Regulations.

Michael Creed

Question:

74 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will supply a copy of SI 156/70 in relation to atmospheric pollution regulations; if this is still the governing legislation in this area; and, if not, if he will have arrangements made to furnish the updated legislation. [27373/99]

The Control of Atmospheric Pollution Regulations 1970, SI No. 156 of 1970, were repealed by the Air Pollution Act, 1987, number 6 of 1987. The controls on emissions to the air contained in the 1970 regulations are now provided for in this Act, in the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992, number 7 of 1992, in so far as activities subject to Integrated Pollution Control, IPC, licensing under the latter Act are concerned, and regulations made under both Acts.

Copies of the Acts and all statutory instruments made under them are available in the Oireachtas Library.
