Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy McGahon – the closure of Hawkesbay Leisure Limited in Ardee, County Louth, with the loss of 300 jobs; (2) Deputy Sheehan – the effect of the proposed changes in the milk quota and super levy regime on the livelihood of farmers; (3) Deputy Ring – the cancellation on a number of occasions of prostate surgery for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; (4) Deputy Gormley – the need for a remedial teacher for St. Brigid's primary school, Haddington Road, Dublin 4; (5) Deputy Neville – the need to provide proper accommodation at the primary school at Kilfinane, County Limerick; (6) Deputy Hayes – the need for the urgent transfer from Beaumont Hospital to Tallaght Hospital of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; (7) Deputy Ulick Burke – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to provide funding in order that student nurses' fees at University College Hospital, Galway, will be paid; (8) Deputy Timmins – the stage of planning for the provision of physical education halls for Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass, and Arklow community school; (9) Deputy Gilmore – the need to ensure that allocation of positions of chairperson of strategic policy committees in local authorities reflects equitably the spread of elected representation on the councils; (10) Deputy Joe Higgins – the concern over privatisation of domestic refuse collection services by several local authorities; (11) Deputy Naughten – the need to allocate funding to farmers and householders to compensate them for losses caused by recent flooding of the River Shannon and for the maintenance of the river channel; (12) Deputy Michael D. Higgins – the need to provide funds to third level institutions to ensure that nurses undertaking a degree course are treated the same as all other undergraduates in relation to the payment of fees; (13) Deputy Deenihan – the near collapse of the non-national road network in County Kerry and the urgent need to provide additional funding to repair the damage caused by the recent high levels of rainfall.

The matters raised by Deputies Sheehan, Naughten, Ulick Burke and Michael D. Higgins have been selected for discussion.
