Vol. 513 No. 1

Written Answers. - Suckler Cow Quota.

Michael Creed

Question:

270 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has received an application for a suckler cow quota under the national reserve scheme for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will look favourably on this request in view of the circumstances. [1352/00]

An application for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the year 2000 national reserve has been received from the person named. Some 7,000 applications have been received in my Department and these are being recorded and processed in accordance with the criteria governing the allocations from this reserve. It is therefore not possible to say at this stage what the result of individual applications may be. It is envisaged that all applicants will be notified, by the end of February at the latest, of the result of their applications.
