Vol. 513 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Nora Owen

Question:

302 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the status of his Department's investigation into a refusal of grant aid for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin and the way the application was handled; if this application will be reconsidered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1822/00]

The person named sought a major modification to his farm improvement – horticulture – plan through Teagasc in March 1999. An explanation for the modification, as is required under the programme, was not given at that stage. A full explanation has since been supplied, and subject to minor clarifications being sought from the person in question, it is expected that written approval for grant aid will issue within the next two weeks to enable the investment works to proceed.
