636 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 323 of 9 March 1999, she will reconsider her position regarding the upgrading of the dry dock on the Grand Canal, Athy, County Kildare (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera):

It is intended to restore and upgrade the facility to a satisfactory operational standard. The works will include the installation of new gates and the erection of railings around the dry dock and it is hoped to undertake the project this year.
