688 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding the naturalisation for a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1878/00]

The application for naturalisation referred to by the Deputy is currently under consideration in my Department. I expect that I will be in a position to advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision shortly.

689 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the decision his Department has taken as a result of receiving correspondence from a person (details supplied) concerning citizenship; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1879/00]

My Department is reviewing the correspondence received in the context of its ongoing dealings with the correspondent and the family members on whose behalf she has written. The immigration division of the Department will be in contact with the correspondent in the near future regarding the various matters raised.
