136 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if the 2000 Estimates contain a sum of £1.45 million for provision of a cable car to Inisbiggle Island, County Mayo; the Vote under which these moneys are provided; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I recently received Department of Finance sanction to allow Mayo County Council to proceed with the planning and development of the Inishbiggle cablecar project at an estimated cost of £1.6 million. As the preparatory work is currently at a very early stage, no major expenditure is expected on the project this year.
There is adequate provision in the estimates for the likely expenditure this year and provision will be made for the major expenditure when it arises.
