Vol. 513 No. 2

Written Answers. - Compensation Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

72 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be paid additional ERAD compensation payments as requested over the past year in relation to the calculation being based on notional as opposed to actual milk yields. [2112/00]

A final offer of additional compensation made on a ‘without prejudice' basis was communicated to the person concerned orally and in writing on 24 January 2000.

The additional amount offered, which represents 50% of the differential between what has been paid to date for dairy cows and in-calf heifers and the maximum available under the grant arrangements, would result in an extra payment of more than £5,000. Written confirmation from the person concerned that this final offer is acceptable, together with an up-to-date tax clearance certificate, will be required before the payment is processed.
