Vol. 513 No. 2

Written Answers. - Drugs Refund Scheme.

Ivan Yates

Question:

104 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Eastern Health Board operates an ad hoc arrangement whereby patients attending public clinics for psychiatric illness get their medication free of charge whereas South Eastern Health Board patients in an identical situation are obliged to pay the first £42 per month under the drugs payment scheme; and the steps, if any, he will take to rectify this anomaly in order that all patients will have the same benefits as those in the Eastern Health Board area. [2102/00]

I am making inquiries in the matter and will communicate directly with the Deputy on completion of my examination.
