Vol. 514 No. 2

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

111 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason it took from 23 June 1999 to 2 February 2000 for copy of a folio for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to issue with file plan attached; the reason the documents which finally issued are of such poor quality, with the maps photocopied overlapping; and the steps, if any, the landowner can take in view of the fact the maps which issued attached to the folio are useless for a sale of property transaction. [3803/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is no record of any application made on 23 June 1999 for a copy of the folio/file plan referred to by the Deputy. However, an application for a certified copy of the file plan in question was lodged on 20 January 2000 and issued to the applicant on 24 January 2000.

I am further informed that the certified copy file plan that issued shows part of the map on a 25 inch scale and the remainder of the map on a six inch scale. The reason for this is that there is no larger scale available from the Ordinance Survey Office for the portion shown on the six inch scale. The map which issued is acceptable to the Land Registry in respect of a subdivision of the property. However, if the applicant is experiencing difficulties with it, he may, if he so wishes, contact the Land Registry and every effort will be made to facilitate him.

Michael Creed

Question:

112 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a dealing in the Land Registry (details supplied) will be expedited. [3805/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing number quoted by the Deputy refers to a transfer order which was lodged on 9 September 1999 and completed on 13 January 2000.

There are no dealings pending in respect of the folio number referred to by the Deputy.
