Question:

117 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the proposals, if any, he has for the vacation of the Garda station in Kilmacthomas and the provision of a temporary station pending the construction of the station; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3810/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 115, 116 and 117 together.

I am aware of the particular difficulties at Kilmacthomas Garda station. It is proposed to build a new replacement Garda station and, in that regard, I can say that progress is being made in that a sketch scheme of the new station has been prepared by the Office of Public Works and is currently being considered by local Garda management. Alternative accommodation for the station as an interim measure is, I understand, being actively sought.
