Vol. 514 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tribunals of Inquiry.

Derek McDowell

Question:

158 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Finance if, having regard to the reply to parliamentary Question Nos. 64 and 86 of 19 November 1997 and recent statements at the Moriarty tribunal, his Department has been in further contact with the Central Bank; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3928/00]

It would not be appropriate for me to make any statement on matters which are currently the subject of examination by the Moriarty tribunal. It would, however, be permissible for me to inform the Deputy that I have been informed by the Central Bank that it expects to be giving evidence to the tribunal shortly.
