Vol. 514 No. 3

Written Answers. - Traffic Regulations.

Tony Gregory

Question:

299 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request the Garda authorities to enforce the law in relation to the double yellow lines (details supplied) in Dublin 1. [4015/00]

The matter referred to by the Deputy has been brought to the attention of the Garda authorities.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are double yellow lines on one side of the street referred to by the Deputy and complaints by residents in connection with illegal parking are dealt with expeditiously by the Garda. I understand that community gardaí address any problems which arise and I have been assured by the Garda authorities that community garda will call on business concerns to advise them of the need to adhere to the parking regulations.

The office of the Director of Traffic, Dublin Corporation, is also responsible, along with the Garda, for enforcing the traffic and parking regulations in Dublin city.
