107 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will publish the recent report in relation to replacing individual regulators in the areas of telecommunications, aviation and electricity generation with a three person commission; and the proposals, if any, she has in response to this report. Last September, I invited interested parties to make submissions to me in relation to governance and accountability arrangements in the regulatory process for the communications, transport and energy sectors that come within the ambit of my Department. This was with the intention of publishing a discussion document in the matter. In response to my invitation to comment, more than 30 submissions were received from interested parties.
The discussion document is being finalised at present and it is my intention to bring it to Government within the next few weeks, following which I will have it published for discussion.
