Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ring – the need to review the fees paid to those employed by the health boards who derive their incomes from fees for registrations and issuing certificates; (2) Deputy Michael Higgins – the continued imposition of economic sanctions on Iraq and the resignation of the representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations with responsibility for humanitarian relief; (3) Deputy Coveney – the need for an initiative to highlight men's health issues; (4) Deputy Durkan – the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 245 of 8 February 2000 in relation to a dispute regarding lands at Shankill in the light of a previous reply to Parliamentary Question No. 346 of 26 January 2000; (5) Deputy Jim Higgins – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to grant the appeal for a licence for a pharmacy in Knock; (6) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to immediately revoke his decision to increase lands and deeds registration fees; (7) Deputy Shortall – the urgent need to increase the ambulance service and to update the fire brigade fleet in the Dublin area; (8) Deputy Upton – the need to address the shortfall in the education component of apprenticeships; (9) Deputy Seán Ryan – the prohibition on the fishing for prawns in an area of the Irish Sea; (10) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the need for additional resources for the provision of radiotherapy treatment to all cancer patients; (11) Deputy Farrelly – the need to find employment for the 120 workers who have lost their jobs in CTM Southborough, Kells, County Meath; (12) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to provide for the continuance of the butter voucher scheme given its importance to families on low incomes; (13) Deputy Sargent – the need to deal with the issue of discrimination against smaller trawlers raised by the closure of large areas of the Irish Sea for prawn fishing; (14) Deputy Deenihan – the urgent need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to provide the necessary finance to enable Finuge bridge, Listowel, County Kerry, to be replaced; (15) Deputy Daly – the impending closure of the KEL factory in Ennis, County Clare, with the loss of up to 70 jobs and (16) Deputy Kenny – the issue of school facilities at St. Anthony's special school, Castlebar, County Mayo.

The matters raised by Deputies Seán Ryan, Sargent, Breeda Moynihan-Cronin and Deenihan have been selected for discussion.
