16 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Defence if he will give details of his recent announcement regarding the change of personnel from Kilkenny to Clonmel; the implications of this move for the barracks in Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4615/00]

Minister for Defence (Mr. M. Smith): There are no proposals for any movement of military personnel from Kilkenny Barracks to Kickham Barracks, Clonmel, and accordingly no such announcement has been made by me. I did, however, announce the intention to relocate the directorate of training and the directorate of reserve forces from Dublin to Clonmel.
