Question:

152 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of MRI scanners operational in public hospitals; the locations of these scanners; the throughput of each; and the amount of scans undertaken by each machine in each of the years from 1996 to 1999, private and public. [4673/00]

At present magnetic resonance imaging – MRI – facilities in the public hospital sector are available at Beaumont Hospital. The specific information as requested by the Deputy is set out in the following table:
