Vol. 514 No. 6

Written Answers. - Noise Pollution.

Question:

238 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to amend the law in connection with noise pollution; the further plans, if any, he has to use stricter controls in this area in view of the ongoing difficulties with household alarms; the communication, if any, he has had with the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform on this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5113/00]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 567 of 29 September 1999.

There have been no recent discussions between my Department and the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, on possible amendments to the law dealing with nuisance from noise.
