Vol. 515 No. 1

Written Answers. - Pharmacy Licences.

John McGuinness

Question:

159 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress, if any, in reaching a decision within the South Eastern Health Board area on issuing a licence for a chemist in Borris, County Carlow; the timeframe for this process; and when a decision will be made. [5383/00]

The consideration of an application for a community pharmacy contractor agreement under the Health (Community Pharmacy Contractor Agreement) Regulations, 1996, and the reconsideration of a decision following an appeal to the Minister is a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to reply directly to the Deputy in this matter.
