Vol. 515 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

169 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip replacement operation in Cappagh Hospital, Dublin 11. [5484/00]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of Cappagh Hospital. I have asked the secretary/manager of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

170 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 will be admitted for surgery without further delay in view of the fact he is in considerable pain. [5543/00]

The responsibility for the scheduling of surgical procedures in this case rests, in the first instance, with St. James's Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
