Vol. 515 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disability Accessible Buildings.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

46 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance the number of public buildings under his Department's care which are not wheelchair accessible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5293/00]

The staff of my Department are located in seven different premises, some of which are shared with other tenants. All these buildings have public access and all have disability access, though in some cases such access is not entirely satisfactory. My Department has a programme in place to improve disability access to all premises occupied by the Department. Work to improve disability access to Government Buildings and to the offices of the Euro Changeover Board of Ireland at Lower Hatch Street is ongoing.
