95 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has for the refurbishment and future development of the military barracks in Castlebar, County Mayo; the number and ranks of personnel stationed there; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5400/00]

Minister for Defence (Mr. M. Smith):

There is no military requirement to alter the status of this post. Routine maintenance will continue to be carried out as required and as resources permit. For security reasons, it is not the practice to disclose the number of permanent defence force personnel stationed at any barracks.
