John McGuinness

Question:

176 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate, as a matter of urgency, the delay in making an appointment for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if an early appointment will be arranged in view of the urgent medical circumstances. [5688/00]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of Tallaght Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

177 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will be offered breast surgery in view of the fact that she had been waiting attention for several years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5743/00]

The scheduling of surgical procedures is the responsibility, in the first instance, of the hospital concerned.

I regret that the information supplied by the Deputy is insufficient to provide for inquiries to be made into this matter. The Deputy should, therefore, provide the chief executive officer of the hospital concerned with full details so that this case can be investigated.
