Question:126 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the way in which he will deal with the severe manpower crisis being experienced in primary health care as set out by the Irish Medical Organisation. [6441/00]

Health boards in consultation with my Department are currently examining the role of general practice within primary care. Among the issues being considered is the question of current workload and manpower requirements within general practice. I will consider the matter further in the light of the outcome of that examination.
