45 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he will include the method of distribution of funds from the Irish Press (No. 2) Pension Fund in the terms of reference of the inquiry being carried out by the Pensions Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Last December I requested the Pensions Board, as the statutory regulator of occupational pension schemes, to carry out an examination of matters relating to the funding of the pension scheme in question and report back to me.
The Pensions Board has advised that the report should be finalised shortly and I will be in touch with the Deputy at that stage.
In view of the Deputy's comments, I have also asked the Pensions Board to advise me on the distribution of the assets following the wind-up of the scheme.
