Vol. 515 No. 4

Written Answers. - Passport Applications.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

68 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has finalised arrangements for the establishment of a duty officer in the Cork passport office to cover the emergency issuing of passports; and the date for the commencement of the new arrangement. [6415/00]

There will be an after hours duty officer service at the Cork passport office from 3 April 2000. This new service is intended to facilitate persons who find just before travelling that they have mislaid their passports or that their passports are out of date. There will be an additional charge of £50 for this service but it will not apply in situations of genuine emergency.
