Question:

70 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [6269/00]

The person concerned made an application in respect of four animals for special beef premium on 15 January 1999. Three of these animals were proper to the ten month age category and the remaining animal was proper to the bull premium scheme. This application has been authorised and payment will issue as soon as possible subject to compliance with the terms and conditions, including stocking density criteria.

Michael Creed

Question:

71 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork who took up the early retirement scheme in April 1999 has been refused payment on a ten and 22 month beef premium application. [6331/00]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development
(Mr. Walsh): The person concerned made an application in respect of 20 animals for special beef premium on 15 January 1999. Of these animals, 11 were proper to the ten month scheme and the remaining nine were proper to the 22 month scheme. The person concerned should confirm his milk quota position as at 1 April 1999 to the special beef premium unit of my Department in order to assess his eligibility for payment. My Department has already contacted the person concerned regarding this issue and as soon as the information is received any payment due will then issue as soon as possible.
