Vol. 515 No. 5

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

52 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the proposals, if any, he has for dredging the harbour at Passage East, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6514/00]

Passage East pier is owned by Waterford County Council and responsibility for its repair and maintenance rests with the local authority in the first instance. Waterford County Council has not to date made any proposal to my Department for financial support for dredging at the pier.

Any proposals which the local authority may make will be considered in the context of the overall priorities for the development of fishery harbours and the funding available.
