Vol. 515 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

142 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position in relation to a ewe cull payment for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6993/00]

Under the Dúchas compensation scheme for ewes culled under the 1998 ewe supplementary measure the rates of payment were fixed at £11 for the loss of each headage grant under the 1999 sheep headage scheme, £25 for the loss of each premium under the 1999 ewe premium scheme and £2 for each ewe culled.

According to my Department's records for the 1999 schemes the person named was at no loss of sheep headage grants, he was at the loss of 196 ewe premia for which he received £25 each. He also received £2 for each of the 198 ewes that he culled in 1998. Therefore, the payment of £5,296 which he received was his full entitlement under the scheme.
