216 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will approve the environmental improvement scheme in respect of St. Patrick's Park, Celbridge, County Kildare, following the submission by Kildare County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6985/00]
A sum of £270,000 was allocated to Kildare County Council under my Department's remedial works scheme in respect of refurbishment works which were completed at this estate in 1996. Following the submission in September 1999 of further proposals for funding of environmental improvement works, the council was informed on 19 November 1999 that the carrying out of any further works at this estate is a matter for it, to be funded from its own resources. This decision was confirmed in a letter to the council on 22 February 2000.
