Vol. 515 No. 6

Written Answers. - Public Transport.

Liam Aylward

Question:

99 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Public Enterprise further to Parliamentary Question No. 137 of 1 February 2000 and in particular to the policy guidelines referred to in the first paragraph of that reply, the reason the guidelines did not apply to the licence which issued on 6 September 1999 to the company (details supplied); if her attention has been drawn to the concern that this company is to be treated preferentially over other established private transport operators; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6959/00]

I am aware that representations have been made to my Department in this case. The application for the licence in question was considered with reference to the guidelines set out in the Department's guide to the functions, records, rules and practices, as amended by me on 14 July last.
