Vol. 516 No. 1

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

74 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the fact that a person (details supplied) is waiting seven years to receive orthodontic treatment; if he will be dealt with as a matter of urgency due to the fact his present orthodontic problems are causing him great embarrassment and affecting the quality of his life; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7073/00]

As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in Dublin 4 is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority I have asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
