Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Browne (Wexford)– the closure of Wennas clothing company, Enniscorthy, with the loss of 50 jobs; (2) Deputy Coveney – the need for the Government to respond to the fact that many young people are using recreational drugs, particularly Ecstacy tablets; (3) Deputy Perry – the need for funding to be made available to Kilmactranny national school, Boyle, County Sligo, for structural and school ground improvements; (4) Deputy Keaveney – the need to increase Garda manpower in Inishowen and to review the penalties for law and order offences; (5) Deputy Ring – the increase in the waiting list for orthodontic treatment in the Western Health Board region; (6) Deputy McGinley – the need to discuss the weekend disturbances in Buncrana, County Donegal, which led to serious injuries to a Garda sergeant and three other gardaí; (7) Deputy Upton – the urgent need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to intervene to ensure an early replacement for the Kerbside waste recycling service; (8) Deputy Shortall – the urgent need to respond to ICTU survey results on the employment of school going children by ensuring that the Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act, 1996, is fully enforced.

The matters raised by Deputies Browne (Wexford), Keaveney, McGinley and Perry have been selected for discussion.
