Dan Neville

Question:

243 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when an appeal of a decision to impose a 100% penalty on a person (details supplied) in County Limerick will be finalised. [8994/00]

My Department examined the case made by the person named against the imposition of a 100% penalty for late submission of REPS 1C payment application form in November 1999. A letter issued on 30 November 1999 to the person named confirming that the penalty had been correctly applied.

Michael Ring

Question:

244 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 cattle and sheep headage. [8995/00]

Payment of the 1999 cattle headage was made to the person named on 22 March 2000. Grants under the sheep headage scheme are based, inter alia, on the forage area and classification of grazings available in the disadvantaged area as indicated on an applicant's 1999 area aid form. In this case the person named applied on 25 mountain ewes and according to area aid records the forage area is classified as lowland grazings only. Therefore, the person named is not eligible for any payment under the scheme.

Michael Ring

245 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the final instalment of his 1999 ewe premium. [8996/00]

The person named was one of a number of herdowners selected to be audited in respect of his area aid application. This audit has now been completed and the area aid application has been fully processed. Any further payments due will issue as soon as possible.
