Vol. 516 No. 6

Order of Business (Resumed).

Will the Taoiseach confirm whether there have been discussions on proposed legislation for the amalgamation of Foynes and Shannon Estuary ports? What is the timescale for the legislation?

Is such legislation promised?

It was announced last Sunday.

I have no proposals in this regard. There is a Foynes fisheries Bill.

The Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources announced legislation last Sunday.

The Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources has announced that there will be consultations on that basis.

He announced that there would be legislation.

At the moment, there are consultations.

When will the Government introduce legislation on dormant accounts in banks?

Is such legislation promised?

A memorandum has been circulated to Departments. I have no date yet.

Last Thursday on the Order of Business, the Tánaiste in reply to a question from my colleague, Deputy Rabbitte, indicated that the Attorney General would raise the intemperate remarks of the Taxing Master with the President of the High Court. Does the Taoiseach intend to make a statement in the House in response to whatever the Taxing Master may have said or what the President of the High Court said to the Attorney General?

A parliamentary question would be more appropriate to deal with that issue.

It was raised on the Order of Business.

It is not appropriate to the Order of Business.

The precedent was that the matter was raised on the Order of Business. It was fulsomely responded to by the Tánaiste—

It was pointed out to the Tánaiste that she was out of order.

The matter is on the record. I think the Taoiseach would like to respond, Sir. I ask you to allow him to do so.
