Vol. 516 No. 6

Written Answers. - Roads Network.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

319 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his Department or any other agencies involved will consider submissions from the local interest groups, with particular reference to the safety requirements of local residents, with a view to achieving full agreement on the provision of an underpass adjacent to the roundabout on the proposed Leixlip/Celbridge link interchange at Kilmacredock, Maynooth, County Kildare, notwithstanding the outcome of the recent oral hearing in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8741/00]

This proposed road development, which comprises a motorway interchange and a number of connecting non-national roads, received ministerial approval on 20 December 1999. The provision of traffic management or other facilities to facilitate pedestrians at the location referred to would be a matter for Kildare County Council.
