Vol. 516 No. 6

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Paul McGrath

Question:

358 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on whether the actions of his Department in refusing entry visas to the spouses of non-EU doctors working here with the appropriate permits is appropriate in view of the State's obligations to protect the position of the family in the Constitution and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8952/00]

As I advised the Deputy in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 105 of 22 March 2000 my Department is currently reviewing its policy in respect of the admission of persons who require a visa and who are family members of persons who are legally employed in the State.
