Vol. 516 No. 6

Written Answers. - Irish Red Cross Society.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

96 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Defence the proposals, if any, he has to update legislation governing the Irish Red Cross; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8812/00]

As I outlined in my reply to the Adjournment Debate in this House on Wednesday, 24 November 1999, regarding the Irish Red Cross Society, a strategic review of the operation of the society is under way. It is intended that the review will be completed by mid-2000. It may transpire that legislative changes may be required at that time and my Department will respond as required in this regard.
