Vol. 517 No. 1

Written Answers. - Occupational Therapy Service.

Liam Aylward

Question:

143 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange to have a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny assessed by the occupational therapist in the South-Eastern Health Board in view of the fact he is in need of an electric bed and has been informed it may be 12 months before this assessment can be carried out. [9221/00]

The assessment for the provision of aids and appliances, including electric beds, in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, South-Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
