Ivor Callely

Question:

109 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the total cost to date of the tribunal of inquiry into the beef industry; if all likely costs arising from the tribunal have been submitted for payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9377/00]

The total cost of the beef tribunal to date is £17,182,324.15. This includes one claim for £22,065.75 which is awaiting payment.

Of the 77 cost orders awarded, 25 of these cost orders are still outstanding and another five are under appeal. As there is still 25 cost orders outstanding, it is likely that further costs will be submitted for payment.
