127 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway under the suckler cow, headage and area aid schemes for the year 1999; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9799/00]
The closing date for receipt of 1999 area aid applications was 23 April 1999. Late applications incurring daily penalties were accepted up to 18 May 1999. There is no record of an 1999 area aid application having been received from the person named.
Producers who have not submitted an area aid application can, however, be paid premia on up to 15 livestock units under the regulations. As this allocation has already been used to pay the 1999 ewe premium to the person named no further payments under the premia or headage schemes are permitted.
