Vol. 517 No. 3

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.

Jack Wall

Question:

128 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will be paid a farm retirement pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9800/00]

On the basis of information available to my Department there was a doubt as to whether the applicant met one of the basic requirements of the scheme, which was that she had to have been engaged in farming as a main occupation during the ten years before retirement. The applicant has recently submitted further information in support of her application and this is being examined. The applicant will be notified shortly of the decision made.
