Under section 4(1)(c) of the Agriculture (Research, Training and Advice) Act, 1988, Teagasc has statutory responsibility for agricultural research, training and advice.
Research and development programmes are regularly assessed by Teagasc in line with developments in the agricultural sector, including the organic sector. The establishment of any research facility and its location are matters for the board of Teagasc in the exercise of its statutory functions.
