180 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will set out the terms of reference for the proposed body to review patient care in public hospitals; and the way in which the Medical Manpower Forum proposals for change can best be implemented. [9545/00]
The Medical Manpower Forum has not yet published its report. However, considerable progress has been made in the consideration of the issues involved. It is intended that the deliberations of the Medical Manpower Forum will be arrived at unanimously and accordingly some further work is required in order to achieve a consensus.
The recommendations of the forum will need to be tested in a representative number of hospitals and it will be necessary to put a structure in place, with appropriate terms of reference, to assess the proposed changes.
