182 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a statement on reports that the EU Commission is taking a case against Ireland for not bringing a new law on neutral recognition of doctors' qualifications in occupational medicine. [9547/00]

I have been informed by the Medical Council that the EU directive relating to the recognition of doctors' qualifications in occupational medicine has been adopted. I have asked the Medical Council to inform the European Commission of this fact.
