Question:

202 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children the number and location of public community nursing units or nursing homes in each health board area; the number of persons catered for in each such unit; the number of persons on waiting lists for these units within each health board area; and the number of additional units to be opened in 2000 and 2001 and their capacity. [9786/00]

It is presumed that the Deputy is referring to extended care facilities provided by health boards and the Eastern Regional Health Authority. Information relating to the number of such facilities, the number of beds in these facilities and the number of persons on waiting lists, has been obtained from these agencies and is set out in the following table.
