Vol. 517 No. 3

Written Answers. - Compensation Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

248 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will give a detailed breakdown of the calculations of the cull ewe scheme destocking compensation for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact the 50 animals culled would have qualified for headage and premium and should have been paid the full £38 each compensation. [9621/00]

The person named by the Deputy was entitled to compensation of £1,474. This amount was made up of 29 ewes that attracted the payment of £25 in respect of loss of premium; 59 ewes where payment of £11 in respect of loss of headage was due and 50 ewes where the bonus of £2 was payable. These figures have been checked and verified by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.
