Vol. 517 No. 3

Written Answers. - Coursing Meetings.

John Gormley

Question:

51 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a meeting of a coursing club (details supplied) held in Limerick Junction racecourse violated rule 85 of the parks dimensions and provisions for hares; and if he will make a statement on the matter in view of his agreement with the coursing club. [9638/00]

I refer the Deputy to Question No. 69 of 22 March 2000 on the same subject. The Irish Coursing Club has stated that the park dimensions referred to in their rules are recommendations, the site was subject to pre-inspection and considered satisfactory and there was no breach of the rules.
