147 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the grant aid to Cork County Council in respect of marine projects in Cork south west, including breakwaters, slipways and piers; and the cost and Department contribution in each case. [10112/00]

Under my Department's fishery harbours and coast protection programmes for 1999, funding was provided for harbour development-coast protection works at the following locations in Cork south-west:

A total of £745,734 was spent by my Department in 1999 on maintenance and development works at Castletownbere Fishery Harbour Centre and £1.17 million is provided for this year. In addition my Department provided funding of £100,525 for works at North Harbour, Cape Clear in 1999 and has made provision for £69,475 in the current year.
