Vol. 517 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Polls.

Richard Bruton

Question:

31 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the arrangements, if any, he will make for future elections so that voting cards will include the name of the ward or constituency, the time during which the polling station will be open, the details of the ballots which are to be issued in the case of multiple voting papers, the precise location of the polling station and the list of candidates for the respective elections. [7661/00]

Electoral law provides that a polling information card shall include details of the elector's number on the register, the place at which he or she will be entitled to vote and a statement on the documents for the purposes of establishing a person's right to vote. I will give consideration to specifying additional information to be included on the card in the context of the ongoing review of electoral law in the Department.
